     The Gollala Mamidada Educational Society under the guidance and patronage of Ln. DRK Reddy as Founder and Honorary President, Life Member of Andhra University Academic Senate, established D.L.Reddy Degree College in the year 1991 with the noble purpose of imparting higher education to the rural people at lower affordable cost.

     It is one of the premier Institutions in East Godavari District in A.P. and recognized for self-discipline and academic excellence. The college is located at Gollala Mamidada, an absolutely pollution free area. Under the dynamic leadership of Ln.D.Vivekananda Reddy, Secretary and Correspondent, the college has attained the status of permanent affiliation from Andhra University in 1995 and has been elevated to Post-Graduate level in the year 1993-1994. The institution has been included under 2F and 12B of UGC Act and receiving financial assistance under various schemes for the development of the college.

    The Director of the PG courses, Dr.M.Bapuji M.Sc. Ph.D. a retired CSIR Scientist is an eminent researcher and teacher. He is recognized as Ph.D Guide by Andhra (Chemistry and Pharmaceutical chemistry), Nagarjuna, Jadavpur, Calcutta and Utkal universities. Five students are awarded Ph.D in interdisciplinary areas under his guidance and several are guided for PG dissertation. He published about 60 research papers, holds 7 patents, developed and released 10 technologies to the industry. Prof.Bapuji isolated and elucidated structures of over forty new complex organic molecules obtained from Nature while working at the Technical University, Berlin as German Academic Exchange Fellow. Dr.Bapuji is a member of ten Academic Societies in India and abroad. His work caused total import substitution of a group of chemicals. He was responsible for discovery of a ridge reef at the sea bottom and for rewriting the marine biology of Orissa coast. He made significant contribution to marine microbial biotechnology. He was Principal Investigator of the National Project on Drugs from Sea for 12 years.

   Prof.Bapuji reorganized the labs of the college within one year and redefined the practical work within the framework of the University guidelines. He established e-learning labs for Chemistry, Biochemistry and MBA. The Postgraduate departments are taking a new shape under his guidance.

     The Campus:- The College is spread over 16 acres of land surrounded by lush greenery paddy fields with moderate climate. It has an excellent accommodation (66,000 SQ.ft. pucca building) with impressive infrastructure such as spacious and well furnished class rooms, chemistry Labs for U.G and P.G, Computer Labs for U.G and P.G, physics lab, open air Auditorium, Big Seminar Hall, Gymnasium and 10 Acre play field. The college has an ample scope for expansion and construction of new buildings and introduction of New Courses.
