     The Government Degree College, Chintalapudi, West Godavari District was started in 1987, which was housed in the premises of Government Junior College and began functioning. Sri. N. Raghava Rao donated a site of 4.60 acres for the college purpose. Sri. M. Eliya donated another site 1.10 acres for the college purpose also. As result a building was started to be built in the site in 1988. It is understood that the then Collector gave away an amount of Rs. 7 lakhs for the construction of the Degree College building from "Crucial Balancing Funds". The construction was taken up by a contractor and stopped. Neither the Principal nor the authorities of the education, Nor roads and building was party, for the so called incomplete building. The Principal of Government Degree College addressed 2 letters to the District Collector for the early completion of the building.

      At the stage local MLA Sri. K. Vidyadhara Rao garu requested the District Collector to expediting the matter.

      Subsequently, in addition to the crucial balances, the Honorable Member of Parliament Sri. P. Upendra garu allotted nearly Rs. 7 lakhs. In 2 phases towards the completion of Degree Buildings as such it was completed with following accommodation. 

     Total Plinth area of the college building : 7750 sq. mts.
