Government Degree College, Narsipatnam - Facilities for Students

 

Library: 

Our College has well equipped Library with 9000 Reference Books and Automation facility with SOUL software online network of leading Libraries at National Level.

The Library cum Reading Room is built with a 160 sq.mtrs. plinth from out of the IX Plan Financial Assistance of Rs. 4.00 Lakhs provided by the U.G.C with a matching component of Rs. 0.60 Lakhs from the College. The Campus is protected with a Compound Wall measuring 850 mtrs Approximately Costing 10.60 Lakhs.

JKC: 

From the Academic year 2007-08 the college sanctioned with Jawahar Knowledge Center (JKC) of the Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad . To impart Training on Soft Skills, Communication Skills and Personality Skills so as to enrich the students for getting employment in software field and other organizations.

Placement Cell:

During the year 2007-08 the Infosys training programme (Infosys Genesis) has been organised by the Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad to give training for the students on soft skills, communication skills and personality development.

The Infosys Company organised campus selections on 16 th and 17 th January 2008 and 31 students of our college who were trained in this college have attended for Preliminary Examinations Conducted at Dr. V.S.Krishna Govt College, Visakhapatnam . Out of 31 students 7 got qualified for final Exam and out of 7 students 2 got selected for employment - Ms. S. Chandana Priya, 3 rd B.Sc selected for BPO and Mr. P.Madhu Selected for IT.

English Language Laboratory:

The Commissioner of Collegiate Education Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad sanctioned a sum of Rs.4.00 Lakhs for the establishment of English Language Laboratory during the year 2007-08. The establishment work is being taken up by the Department of Panchayat Raj Engineering, Narsipatnam. The Computers and Other Infrastructure will be supplied by Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad and it is helpful for the conduct of Computer/English Practical Examinations for the Students of this college and surrounding colleges.

Supplementary Mode of Teaching MANA .TV:

The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh also sanctioned MANA T.V. to our College with all required gadgets costing around Rs.1.50 Lakhs. The statewide classroom with expert lectures in some faculties is going on at stipulated times. We have a proposal to organize an Electronic Class Room from the next academic year for the benefit of our student community. This audiovisual mode of imparting knowledge adds a new dimension to supplement teaching in addition to the existing conventional modes.

College Planning and Development Council:

Our College constituted the CPDC involving public figures and parents Sri Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu, our M.L.A. and Hon'ble Former Minister for Forests is one of the Members on the CPDC against the category of Philanthropists. I express my gratitude on my behalf and on behalf of the staff and students to Sri Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu for his keen interest in developing our Institution in various directions. We thank all the Members of C.P.D.C. for their co-operation in the development of the College.
