In the early 19th an illiterate fisherman of (Agnikula Kshatriya) who battle with both penury and tidal waves in his early life and later became a crorepathi. Dreamt of dedicating his life to the efflorescence of knowledge, wisdom and philosophy through the temples of learning. Deeply in fined with an indefatigable zeal to promote educational opportunities for all needy sections of society in respective of caste, creed and colour be laid stress in his will on imparting technical education along with academic knowledge of Arts for which he donated in 1912 a hefty amount of Rs. 8,00,000/-. His vision, however was translated into a reality in 1971, when the Degree College was started in 1971. The college which had a humble beginning, has now grown into a gigantic educational institution, catering to the academic needs of a large section of students with rural background.
