Sri Chintalapati Bapiraju Dharnia Samstha was founded on the auspicious day of 2711' August 1957. Sri Chintalapati Sita Rama Chandra Vara Prasada Murthy Raju. the founder president of the Samstha named it after his late beloved father Sri Bapi Raju Garu. Sri Murthy Raju Ex. Minister, Cent of A.P. is the pride and glory of Andlira Jccommo. His life has a message and destiny. He is a true GANDH1AN who published a hundred books on Gandhian literature in connection with Gandhi Hill foundation committee. He was bom in a small village. Chinanindrakolanu and has a great concern to the development of villages. With this aim only, he started 70 educational institutions in rural areas of West Godavari District.
This prestigious institution is one among (he 70 institutions started in the year 1972. This college lias been named after Raja Ram Mohan Roy as Raja Ram Mohan Roy Dwisalha Jayanthi College commemorating bicentenary birth celebrations of the social reformer. In the year of the inception of the college there was only R.C'om course Inn in the subsequent year. B.A course was also introduced. Since then the college has been going from strength to strength serving the cause of education.
The staff and students went on indefinite hunger strike for the take over of the college. In deference to the wishes of the staff the Govt. issued the G.O.MS.No 939 dated 20-09-1978 for the immediate take over of the college. The physical takeover of the college was delayed due to the compensation problem. Finally the Government issued G.O.Ms.No.303 dated 31-12-1996 wherein compensation was paid to the founder for the take over of the college. The physical takeover of the college was effected by the issue of G.O.Rt.No 1033 dated 01-07-1997. This college has become a Government institution with effect from 09-04-1997.
During the year 2000-2001 we have established a computer lab and a multi jim with the Govt funds under the supervision of the CPDC. During the year 2001-2002 who have constructed one class room under supervision of the R&B dept. We have also submitted proposals for the grant of Rs. 19.5 lakhs for the construction of permanent class rooms.
Let us all wish that this institution will serve the cause of Education better in the coming years.
