The founder of Sanketika Vidya Parishad engineering college late Shri Sunkari Alwar Das, aprominent personality of Visakhapatnam,has promoted 3 societies Sri Srinivasa Vidya Parishad (Regd) ,Sri Venkateswara Vidya peeth(Regd) and Sri Balaji Vidya Parishad (Regd).with commitment to provide all levels of education through their 22 educational institutions right from primary level to PG research including Engineering fields.

The SVP Engg College was established in the year 2003-04 starting with the four basic branches of Engg, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication,Computer Science with an intake of 60 each. This college is located at very strategic point in the midst of the nearest suburban housing colony, and behind the VDCA Cricket stadium,well on the NH_5 on the eastern corridor of the golden quadrilateral of the nation. This college has got an unique advantage that it is the nearest private engineering college from the heart of the city. It takes only 20 minutes time from the railway station and well connected to the RTC bus network. The svp engineering college is affiliated to the Andhra University Visakhapatnam, and is approved by the AICTE & by the Govt of AP.

The college is now in the 3rd year of its existence and much attention and care is taken by the college management to provide the qualified faculty. The college is putting its best efforts to augment the faculty position as and when vacancy arises.Some of the faculty are very seniors in all the departments, but major component is young and energetic. Honorary guest faculty are also taken from Industry and field so as to give over to students sufficient practical experience. For the benefit of our students , spoken English and personality development classes are arranged.

This college is administered by a Governing Body chaired by DR.M.Gopala Krishna Reddy, Former Vice Chancellor of AU a well known educationist.The secretary is Sri SVH Rajendra who got experience in running various educational institutions is leading SVP engg college to develop like any leading Tech Institute in and the Country.The depts. are almost developed, and new buildings are added as required in the curriculum for the first time in this college. To mention , the mechanical engineering dept has started its H/MS & FM lab,IE /WS labs,Metrology labs recently. and similarly other departments are also progressing well. Shortly the college library is going to move to spacious & comfortable new premises in the main building.

The college applied for new branches CIVIL,IT and with additional intake in the existing ECE and CSE branches. Students progress like attendance,exam results,etc are informed to their parents through progress reports so as to make the parents aware of their wards position in the college. Hostel Facility for the students is also completed.
