Brief History of the college:

SIMS (Srinivasa Institute of Management Studies) was promoted by Sri Srinivasa Vidya Parishad (Regd) is having persons with various back ground in education, industrial management and experts in various fields.

The chairman of the society is Dr.M.Gopalakrishna Reddy, an eminent educationist and ex-vice-chancellor of Andhra University, Sri K.Phanibhushana Rao, Vice-Chairman was famous principal of Dr.Bullayya College, which is the one of reputed institutions in the City. Sri A.S.N.Prasad another member of the society is a technocrat and founder of many a business organizations. Sri M.Sudarsana Swamy is another member of the society who has established a reputed business organization.

The institute (SIMS) was established in the year 1995 with required infrastructure and sanction strength of 30 students. During the academic year 2002-03 the institute got sanctioned for additional intake of 30 students and now the institute is running with sanction strength of 60 students.

Classrooms:

Classrooms are highly ventilated and equipped with furniture. Teaching aids are provided in order to help the faculty to give an effective presentation and make it easy for the students to understand.

Faculty:

The institute having well experienced and senior faculty (in academic and in industry). In order to update the faculty, institute sponsors faculty to attend training programmes in various disciplines to adopt the latest teaching methodology. All faculty members are involved in various research works and same being publishing in various leading Management Journals.

Library:

Fully equipped computerized library has been established. Students of this Campus have the advantage of referring books in other disciplines in addition to the discipline they are in order to help them to acquire knowledge, which will help the students to improve their knowledge, which is ultimately the power of every successful person.

Seminar Room:

Exclusive Seminar Room with facilities like OHP, TV, VCR, LCD etc is provided.

Guest/Extension Lectures:

Guest/Extension lectures are organized periodically, designed to promote better interaction between the Students, Academicians, Industrialists and Executives etc.

Counseling:

The faculties are assigned the responsibility of counseling the students. Counseling aims at participation, Team work and knowledge management. Periodical tests, Surprise Quiz are conducted time-to-time performance.

Placement Cell

The institute has established a Placement Cell headed by a full-time Faculty member designated as Placement Officer. The Placement Officer with the help of the students coordinates the Placement Cell. The members of the placement cell will work for the Summer and Final Placement of Students.

Sports

The SSVP Educational complex has large playground of 10,0 acres within the campus and has facilities for outdoor games like Cricket, Basketball, Football, Volleyball etc. in addition the complex is having an Indoor Stadium with facilities like Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Gym etc. We are proud to announce that ours is the only educational complex in Visakhapatnam having an Indoor stadium.

Academic Values

The Society under which the proposed institution is being set up has an excellent track record of over 20 years experience in running educational institutions in Visakhapatnam. The objective of the society inter alias include values in academic sphere and adoption of proper policies for employment, promotion, training and service conditions of the teaching and non-teaching personnel. The society could retain the teaching faculties for longer periods due to its pro personnel policies. The performance and qualifications are considered on priority while elevating the teaching personnel and due weightage given in fixing the pay and allowances.

Linkages with Industry

In order to develop a good relationship with the industry for the benefit of the students the society has established SISS consultancy to cater for corporate training, placements and consultancy. Which had organized training programs for industries like L & T, NTPC, Hindustan Zinc, Baja Motors, Visakhapatnam Port Trust etc. which ultimately helping the institutes promoting by the society to get recognition by the industry.
