To give
academic training to teachers working in Universities and affiliated colleges,
the Department has taken up refresher courses and orientation courses through
the
Academic
Staff College, as well as refresher and orientation courses financed by the UGC
and AICTE.
To help the
budding managers and the entrepreneurs the Department has conducted a number of
training programmes financed by Small Industry Development Bank of India (SIDBI),
the Andhra University and also by many local Industries/organizations like
Dredging Corporation of India, HPCL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, NTPC etc.
Since the
refresher and orientation programmes conducted through Academic Staff College
are found to be not sufficient to met the requirements of a large number of
teachers, the Department also conducted refresher and orientation programmes on
self-financing basis.
