The Centre had been headed by the Honorary Directors since inception. During the tenure of Prof. K.C.Reddy as Hon. Director (2000-04), the Centre gained prominence and recognition. Later Prof.T.Nirmala Devi assumed as In-Charge in 2004 and then became full-time Director in 2006. The Centre has filled up the teaching posts, sanctioned by the UGC during the current phase.

        A.Subramanyam Raju as Associate Professor of Political Science and V. Sreemannarayana Murthy as Assistant Professor of Sociology, besides a Project Associate were appointed in September 2006. With the induction of the new teaching staff, the Centre hopes to strengthen the current research base and conduct research studies rigorously on issues related to South Asia.
