Prof. Allam Appa Rao
holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from Andhra University India. He is a
Fellow of SDPS. He heads the top ranking Andhra University Autonomous College of
Engineering from the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. His computer
engineering contributions have been extraordinary and highly relevant to
the societal needs. He demonstrated through his patents and publications
the extra ordinary skill in using computer engineering to solve medical
diseases. His refereed-journal papers are of very high quality, several of
his papers place him in altogether different league by connecting
bioinformatics to software engineering.
Prof.Allam takes on the most
challenging problems, pursues them from transdisciplinary perspective, and
come up with the most creative solutions. Prof. Allam’s accomplishments
range from computational biology, and physical models for image formation
in machine vision, study of shape changes by usage of numeric
morphological operators, continuity of care in medicine, adapting
biological processes into engineering, and new educational thinking in
computer science and medicine. His rare, subtle, and intuitive
understanding of why, where, and how Alzheimer’s disease and type 2
diabetes mellitus have a cholinesterase connection is very impressive.
He
made outstanding contributions in bioinformatics and significantly
advanced understanding of biological processes related to diseases. His
pioneering work on correlating two severe diseases, namely, Alzheimer and
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the most significant contribution in the field
of bioinformatics as this work is tremendously influencing the development
of fully automated kits/tests for detecting biological markers related to
these diseases.
