Andhra University is located on the southeast coast in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Endowed with natural beauty, Visakhapatnam with a population of over a million people is described as the City of Destiny. Andhra University campus overlooking the Bay of Bengal provides an ideal setting for study and research.
Visakhapatnam has during the last five decades grown into a leading industrial city. The Shipyard, Port Trust, Oil Refinery and Steel plant are among the major industrial establishments while a number of other industries have also come up in the recent past. The city of Visakhapatnam enjoys a tropical maritime climate, which is temperate with no appreciable seasonal fluctuation. Summer (April-July) temperatures range from 25 to 35 o C. Winter Months (December-February) are marked by moderately cold temperatures of about 20 to 27 o C. The humidity is around 70-80% throughout the year.
The city offers wide number of opportunities for recreation and leisure. Beautiful sandy beaches, lush green hilly terrain, parks, hotels and restaurants etc. offer exciting recreational opportunities and make the stay of every student memorable. The city is well connected to all the major cities of India, by Air and by Train. For a temporary stay the student can choose any hotel in the city and the room tariffs vary from US$ 10 to US$100 per day.
