Department of Politics and Public Administration

    The Post-Graduate Department of Politics and Public Administration was established in December 1977. Since then the Department has been steadily progressing in teaching and research. At present it has been recognized by the public and public agencies for its disciplined faculty providing quality education and research incorporating new techniques and methods in Political Theory and Public Administration.  

     The Department introduced semester system in the academic year 2000-2001, and from the academic year 2002-2003 a new restructured syllabus as per the UGC guidelines has been in implementation with the emphasis on computer applications and environmental studies. The Department offers specializations in rural, tribal, and women development studies.

      The Department operates a separate Departmental Library for the benefit of the students. The alumni of this department are well placed in society, politics and administration. The Department interacts with the officials, non-officials, political leaders, members of voluntary agencies and service organizations. The Department undertakes electoral studies, socio-economic surveys and evaluative studies of government schemes and programmes etc., and thus responsive to the societal needs. The Department is equipped with computers and faculty with commitment.

1.Ph.D(Full-time) Candidates with a minimum second class (50% of Marks) in their masters degree in the relevant discipline.  Preference to those candidates with NET and SLET qualification and M.Phil degree holders
2. M.Phil (Full-time)   Candidates with a minimum second class (50% of marks ) in their masters degree in the discipline concerned.  Preference to those candidates who qualify in NET and SLET examination
