Building:
The Library is housed in an imposing structure overlooking the sea. It has three floors and one cellar floor. The ground and first floors have mezzanine floors too. The plan view of the building is in T shape, having East, West and Northern wings. The total plinth area of the building is about 60,000 sft. The main functionaries of the Library are the Circulation, Periodicals, Reference, Acquisition, Binding and Technical sections apart from the Administrative and Computers sections. |

2) Arrangement & Display 
In Dr. V.S. Krishna Library, books are shelved according to classified using Decimal classification scheme to arrange them in a helpful sequence to facilitate easy browsing & location of books sought by the Users. Since the library follows open access system in most of the sections, to assist the user in locating the needed book all kinds of bay & shelf guides, direction and sign boards are provided in different sections of the library. Current issues of periodicals are displayed on slanted display racks in the periodical section. Each periodical is assigned with a location of the loose issue of the periodical. Once the volume of the periodical is complete, all the loose issues, which constitute the volume, will be sent for binding from the periodical section. The bound volumes, which are also called as back issues, of the periodical are then classified and catalogued and are kept in the reference section. There are separate reference sections in the library containing back volumes of periodicals for Arts, Science & Technology and Engineering. News Papers are kept in Separate section in the ground floor along with Text book section with adequate reading facility.
Library Staff
The library is managed by Librarian, one deputy librarian, three Assistant Librarians, 38 Library and Technical Assists. And more than 100 Non professional staff including the administrative staff. They Include office superintendent, Senior Assistant, Junior Assistant, typists, record Assistants and Attenders.
Reading & Seating facility 
Dr. V.S. Krishna Library provides sufficient reading and seating facility along with stack area in different sections. In addition to this an exclusive reading room facility was created in a separate two storied building. Users are allowed to bring their personal books into this reading room while they were not allowed in the main library. At a time the library can provide seating and reading facility for about 400 users.
Furniture & Equipment :

The Library is equipped with mostly wooden chairs and table for seating and reading purposes, for shelving purpose mostly steel bookshelves with specified standards are used.

Binding section contains all necessary equipment for binding books, journals and for preparing library tickets and borrower books.

For the purpose of automation, Networking and Internet browsing, the library is maintaining computer systems and servers.
Other Physical facilities :

The library building is located in a specious area. Adequate parking facility is available for parking all types of vehicles.

Round the clock protected drinking water facility is provided with in the library for the sake of users and library staff.

Proper care is taken to provide good ventilation and lighting with in the library to create congenial environment for browsing and reading the library materials in different sections of the library.
Rules & Regulations

Library material shall not be issued to anyone who does not hold a current library card. Material may be issued only to the borrower in person or to a person having the written authority of the borrower. Library users shall be held responsible for any material issued on their card.

A librarian has discretion to limit the period for which any material may be borrowed by a person at any one time, and to grant special borrowing privileges to meet particular circumstances.

Material marked 'Not for Loan' and 'For reference only', current and back volumes of periodicals shall not be issued on loan.

All borrowed material shall be returned to circulation Desk in the Library.

Any borrower failing to renew or return borrowed material by the due date and time shall be liable to pay a fine calculated on the following scale.
i) Book : Per day
Fines are calculated from the due date.
Fines shall be payable at the circulation desk on all days between 6 am to 10pm.
Borrowed material will be stamped with the due date of return, which need to be checked by the user. The Librarian does not have any obligation to notify borrowers as to when the books are overdue. Fines shall be charged when the books are returned after the due date. All items on loan shall be returned on expiry of membership of the library.
Copying :
Any person making use of the photocopying facility of the library shall comply with the current laws on copyright.
