The University has a Media Relations unit headed by Press Relations Officer. The Press Relations Officer acts as a liaison between the Media organizations and the University and maintains cordial relations with the media personnel. The PRO facilitates smooth flow of official information to the media organizations.

Functions:

1. Releasing of press notes regarding development information, profiles of the completed, on line and proposed research projects.
2. Arranging media coverage for the Convocations, meetings of the Academic Senate and Executive Council, Seminars, Symposia, Conferences, Workshops, Conventions, Workshops, Training and Refresher Courses, Research Forum meetings, Endowment lectures, Sports and Cultural events.
3. Releasing official notifications like examination schedules, changes in examination centers, announcement of results, Ph.D and M.Phil notifications, etc.
4. Media coverage for achievements of the University teachers, non-teaching, students and scholars.
5. Press Clipping service for the review of the authorities and issuing rejoinders, clarifications, etc.
