The Department has fairly well-established student laboratories with necessary infrastructure and amenities that are required for post-graduate class work. Commensurate with developments in fisheries and aquaculture sectors in recent times, the Department was able to create a facility through a shore based Laboratory for carrying out experiments in cultivable species of fin and shellfish with running seawater intake systems and other amenities. Further, the Department has developed a separate Marine Biology Laboratory with adequate facilities for field sampling and data analysis pertaining to Marine Biological studies.
With the funding received from UGC under SAP, a Central Laboratory with the following equipment has been established.
