B.E./B.Tech. I year students (05,06,07 Admitted Batches)

Those students who failed to attend for the Personal Contact Programme / Practical Classes held previously for I year or fell shortage of attendance have to attend for the present practical classes along with 08 batch students in order to get the eligibility to attend the ensuing examinations. B.E./B.Tech I year students (08 admitted batch)

Students are advised to respond to the appropriate items mentioned hereunder. All the students are requested to send back the enclosed optional form so as to reach SDE on or before 30-06-2008. Optional forms received after 30-06-2008 will not be considered. 

1)  Personal contact

Programme: Detailed programme will be sent to the candidate by post. Students are advised to visit our website: www.andhrauniversity.info/sde  for all the details. 

a) Theory: 15 days Theory classes will be held in AU College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam only. The programme is likely to commence from the last week of July or 1^st week of August,2008. Attendance for the theory classes is optional. 

b) Practicals: 10 days practicals, 1 day internal exam, 3 days year-end practical examinations, 2 days for theory internal tests. Attendance for the practical classes is compulsory for obtaining the eligibility to write practical as well as theory examinations.

Practical classes for all the  branches  will be conducted in different colleges of  Visakhapatnam only.

3)Internal Marks   

a) Assignment – 15 marks

b) Internal Test – 10 marks      

a) Assignments: Assignments will be supplied to the eligible candidates who attends the practicals. Candidates have to submit the assignments either in person or by post to Prof.B.Ch.Krishna Murty. Details will be informed to the candidate in due course.                                                                                                                       

b) Internal test: Test will be conducted immediately after the practical examination at the respective PCP centre or along with the  theory examinations (separate communication will be sent to the candidates).

4) Attendance  

Attendance is optional for the theory classes and  compulsory for Practicals.

III Year B.E./BTech PCP and Practical Schedule 2008

Greetings from the School of Distance Education. We have scheduled Theory and Practical classes for III year (05 batch) students of all the branches of Engineering offered by the School of Distance Education. Theory classes for all the students will be conducted in the respective departments of Andhra University College of Engineering only. We tried our best to allot the practical centre as per your choice. I hope you know that the 75% attendance is compulsory for practical and optional for theory classes. You are advised to attend the programme as per the schedule enclosed.

Sessional marks: It is decided to award the sessional marks based on the both assignments and examinations. Assignments will be evaluated for 15 marks and the sessional examinations will be conducted for 10 marks. However, for practicals, sessional and external examinations will be conducted for 50 marks each at the centre allotted to you. Assignment questions will be sent to you in due course and you have to submit the assignments to SDE with in the due date.

The centre allotted to you is marked in the enclosed schedule.

Change of centre is not possible at this stage. You are further directed to report to the Centre Coordinator at 9.00 am on the day of the commencement of the programme and register your name by producing your identity card.
Defaulters of tuition fee to this school will not be supplied with the relevant reading material including laboratory manuals. Laboratory manuals are being sent to the candidates by post. However, local candidates can collect the laboratory manuals at the office of School of Distance Education.

Defaulters of tuition fee are not eligible to appear for practical and theory examinations of the university. Hence, students are advised to clear tuition fee dues immediately.

All the 3rd year students of (05 batch) Engineering courses who failed to respond to our circular dated 10.04.2008, regarding attending the personal contact programme / practical classes are hereby informed that they will be permitted to attend classes along with 06 batch students in the next year.
